Saturday 5th-Sunday 6th October: Otamatapaio Hut

This is a 4 bunk hut on major tributary of the Waitaki River, accessed up an easement just before Sailors Cutting. Walking starts from a carpark on Backyards Road and continues for 15 km/ 5 hours to the hut up an old farm track with river crossings. Tents required.
