Herbert Forest Guided Walks
People of all ages who are capable of walking for a minimum of one hour on uneven surfaces are invited to walk through rare mature native forest, guided by members of the North Otago Tramping and Mountaineering Club. A number of walks will be available, ranging from I hour to 3-4 hours. First walks will depart at 10am, the last at 12 noon. Participants should bring: stout footwear with grippy soles (tracks are slippery in places and most walks involve several shallow stream crossings); clothing suitable for wet and cold weather; water, lunch or snack; and a camera. Please leave the dog at home and do not smoke. Cancellation will be advised on local radio stations and NOTMC website (www.notmc.org.nz). Contact John Chetwin (03 4395598).
Follow the signs from South of Herbert on SH1 to Breakneck Rd and continue to the car park / walking base.
