Sat 16th-Sun 17th December: Mitchells Hut

Hectors Plateau is an area in front of the Kakanui Range with distinctive volcanic landforms and vegetation. The plan is to go to Mitchells Hut on Friday night; spend Saturday and Sunday exploring the area and climbing some or all of Mt Dasher (1304m), Kattothyrst (1293m), Obi (1425m) and Siberia Hill (1272m). Hut sleeps 6, so may need tents. 4WDs required.
