Hinewai Reserve is one of Banks Peninsulas best kept secrets – over 1200ha of regenerating native forest and remnantsof old growth forest,privately owned and managed. The reserve is the brain child of legendary botanist Hugh Wilson who has managed it since it was first bought in 1987. The plan is to do day walks from a base at Hinewai Lodge.
