Clubnights
Club night is at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month except December and January. Meetings are held in the North Otago Search and Rescue Headquarters, 1 Severn Street. Entrance is the first on the left from the bottom of Severn Street. Potential members are welcome.
Trip Costs
Trip transport costs are shared among participants. Some trips involve additional accommodation and activity costs.
Trip Grading
E Up to 4 hours walking on tracks
M Up to 8 hours walking, reasonable fitness needed.
F Over 8 hours walking, usually rough terrain, a higher level of fitness and alpine equipment often needed.

Thursday 5th-Sunday 8th February (Waitangi weekend): Sugarloaf and Rock Burn. Camp at Lake Sylvan on Thursday night. Tramp over Sugarloaf Pass and up the Rock Burn to Theatre Flat on Saturday. Monday 9th February: Clubnight –Trip Planning Roll up with lots of ideas for the Autumn season. Meeting at NOSAR club rooms, 1 Severn St, 7.30pm

Saturday 28th- Sunday 1st March: Green Point Hut This former musterers’ hut is reached by a 11km walk up the Jollie River from the Braemar-Mt Cook Station Road on the east side of Lake Pukaki. Sunday 8th March: Local Bike Ride A two to three hour ride around the back roads in the Kakanui-Herbert area. Suit both muscle and electric bikes. Contact: Colin (027 944 5405) Depart: Kakanui Hall 9.00am Grading: Easy
Monday 9th March: Clubnight – a Celebration Life memberships will be presented to those who have made particularly significant contributions to the Club over many years. Followed by the retelling of old tales over a pot-luck supper. Meeting at NOSAR club rooms, 1 Severn St, 7.30pm
Sunday 15th March: Big Ben (1370 metres) Big Ben sits to the north-east of Little Domett. It is an 850 metre climb, mainly on 4WD tracks. Contact: Neville (027 955 8580) Depart: Medway carpark 8.00am Grading: Medium
Saturday 21st - Monday 23rd March (Otago Anniversary Weekend): Cameron Hut and Arrowsmith Range Starting from near Lake Heron, tramp in to the Cameron Hut on first day, visit the Cameron Glacier on the second day, and walk out on day 3. Saturday 28th – Sunday 29th March: Snowy Gorge Creek Snowy Gorge Creek joins the Ahuriri above the East Ahuriri. The hut is 11km from the Birchwood Road and requires crossing the Ahuriri. Possible visit to the aptly named Hideaway Biv on the way in or out. Alternative trip to Top Dingle Hut if the Ahuriri is too high. Contact: Jenny (027 819 6401) Depart: Medway car park 7am Saturday.
