Clubnights

Club night is at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month except December and January.  Meetings are held in the North Otago Search and Rescue Headquarters, 1 Severn Street.  Entrance is the first on the left from the bottom of Severn Street. Potential members are welcome.

Trip Costs

Trip transport costs are shared among participants.  Some trips involve additional accommodation and activity costs.

Trip Grading

E        Up to 4 hours walking on tracks
M      Up to 8 hours walking, reasonable fitness needed.
F        Over 8 hours walking, usually rough terrain, a higher level of fitness and alpine equipment often needed.

The Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held followed by Trip Planning for the July-September period. Members are urged to consider taking an active role in the club’s administration and bring ideas for exciting winter trips.

Ben Lomond

Sun 9th June: Ben Lomond

The Ben Lomond ridge separates the Maerewhenua and Otekaieke valleys. This tramp will start in the Otekaieke valley, climb on to the ridge and then along it to Lower Ben Lomond (994 metres) and, time and energy permitting, Ben Lomond itself (1052 metres). The route then drops down to the Otekaieke Bridle Track and back along to the cars.

Mount Cook Weekend

A winter base camp at mount Cook Village with a variety of walks from easy to hard. A shared meal on Saturday night will help celebrate mid-winter.
