What’s on?
Clubnights
Club night is at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month except December and January. Meetings are held in the North Otago Search and Rescue Headquarters, 1 Severn Street. Entrance is the first on the left from the bottom of Severn Street. Potential members are welcome.
Trip Costs
Trip transport costs are shared among participants. Some trips involve additional accommodation and activity costs.
Trip Grading
E Up to 4 hours walking on tracks
M Up to 8 hours walking, reasonable fitness needed.
F Over 8 hours walking, usually rough terrain, a higher level of fitness and alpine equipment often needed.

Sunday 25th May: Dave’s Track Working Bee
Dave’s Track in Trotters Gorge is named for a late club member, Dave Sinclair. The aim is do some track clearing and marking.

King’s Birthday w/e: Saturday 31st May – Monday 2 June: Hopkins Valley
A trip up the Hopkins Valley, spending Saturday night at Elcho Hut, then walking up to the Dodger Hut and return to Elcho on Sunday. Walk out Monday. Tents may be required.

Sunday 8th June: Herbert Forest Working Bee
Help maintain the tracks through the native forest valleys in the Herbert Forest. Work will include vegetation clearing and track/step repairs.

Sunday 15th June: Otekaieke Hill (1172 Metres)
Start from the end of Special School Road, a round trip climbing to the top, then dropping down into Jacksons Creek and back along the Otekaieke Bridle Track.

Matariki w/e: Friday 20th- Sunday 22nd June: Arthur’s Pass
We will walk up the Taramakau as far as the Lake Kaurapataka Track and walk along this track to reach the Otehake River. Turning upstream and proceeding approx. 2 km to reach the hot pools where we will camp for 2 nights. There will be walking options for the middle day. Walk back to the vehicles and drive home on the Sunday.
