Club night is at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month except December and January. Meetings are held in the North Otago Search and Rescue Headquarters, 1 Severn Street. Entrance is the first on the left from the bottom of Severn Street. Potential members are welcome.
Trip transport costs are shared among participants. Some trips involve additional accommodation and activity costs.

F Over 8 hours walking, usually rough terrain, a higher level of fitness and alpine equipment often needed.
We have never been to Hermit’s Cave before, so let’s go and see if we can find it. We will head up Green Hill Track to Pulpit Rock and then along Rocky Ridge to find the cave. May return via Possum Hut.

Walk the length of the Katiki Beach and Shag Point rock shelf with their variety of fascinating rock formations. Low tide will be about 11am.

- Mt Crichton Loop – Lake Dispute Walkway (3-4 hours)
- Twelve Mile Delta – Bob’s Cove (4-5 hours)
- Sawpit Gully – Arrow Gorge Track (3 -4 hours)
- Millennium Walkway – Tobin’s Track (3-3.5 hours)
Travel Saturday morning, arriving Queenstown approximately 11am. Walks will start early afternoon. Stay at backpackers Saturday night.

Climb Ben Ohau (1522 metres) from Lake Ohau – a climb of 1000 metres. Return via Greta Stream. Great views of the MacKenzie basin, lakes and surrounding mountains. Mostly on track.

Explore some new country in this area east of Lake Pukaki. An easy stroll beside the Mary Burn followed by an optional 500 metre climb up Simon’s Hill (969 metres) for good views of the MacKenzie Basin.

Start from Quailburn (about 700 metres), climb over Quailburn Saddle into East Ahuriri and tramp up valley to camp by some un-named tarns at around 1500 metres. Return by same route, or via Freehold Creek if transport can be arranged. Mostly poled route. Tents required.
