Clubnights
Club night is at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month except December and January. Meetings are held in the North Otago Search and Rescue Headquarters, 1 Severn Street. Entrance is the first on the left from the bottom of Severn Street. Potential members are welcome.
Trip Costs
Trip transport costs are shared among participants. Some trips involve additional accommodation and activity costs.
Trip Grading
E Up to 4 hours walking on tracks
M Up to 8 hours walking, reasonable fitness needed.
F Over 8 hours walking, usually rough terrain, a higher level of fitness and alpine equipment often needed.
Programme
Summer Programme 2023-Public Version
A challenging 6 hour walk with some steep parts, steps, ladders and fixed ropes along the Opihi Gorge near Fairlie. Leave car at each end and swap keys halfway. Also an easier option would be the Opihi River Walkway running between Kimbell and Opihi Gorge Road.

Join Otago Tramping and Moutainering Club on Trip #47 of their 100 trips to celebrate the Club’s centenary this year. From Mountain Road, walk to Jubilee Hut (4 hours) and return. A shorter version would be to go as far as the Devils Staircase and return.

Sat 22nd–Sun 23rd April: An Awakino Weekend
A weekend of tramping, climbing, exploring or just hanging out based at the Awakino Ski Lodge. Options include climbing one or both of two of the highest peaks in the St Mary Range (Te Kohurau [2015 metres] and Fosters Peak [1942 metres]), exploring the saddle above and tarns behind the ski field which have interesting flora, or just wandering around the upper Awakino valley. 4WDs preferred.
