Club night is at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month except December and January. Meetings are held in the North Otago Search and Rescue Headquarters, 1 Severn Street. Entrance is the first on the left from the bottom of Severn Street. Potential members are welcome.
Trip transport costs are shared among participants. Some trips involve additional accommodation and activity costs.
E Up to 4 hours walking on tracks
M Up to 8 hours walking, reasonable fitness needed.
F Over 8 hours walking, usually rough terrain, a higher level of fitness and alpine equipment often needed.
Explore some new country in this area east of Lake Pukaki. An easy stroll beside the Mary Burn followed by an optional 500 metre climb up Simon’s Hill (969 metres) for good views of the MacKenzie Basin.

Start from Quailburn (about 700 metres), climb over Quailburn Saddle into East Ahuriri and tramp up valley to camp by some un-named tarns at around 1500 metres. Return by same route, or via Freehold Creek if transport can be arranged. Mostly poled route. Tents required.

We have never been to Hermits Cave before, so let’s go and see if we can find it. We will head up Green Hill
Track to Pulpit Rock and then along Rocky Ridge to find the cave. May return via Possum Hut.

A long Labour Day weekend on the Rock and Pillar Range, based at Big Hut. Travel and 1000 metre climb up to the hut on Saturday, explore the tops on Sunday, and return Monday.

A walking/mountain biking track from Logan Park High School to the Signal Hill lookout (393 metres) in Dunedin. Great views. 12kms return

Ride from Waianakarua Reserve car park on Mt Misery Road to car park past the Red Hut. Stop on way to explore Glencoe Reserve from new entry within Glencoe Run and the site of new Kahikatea Hut in the Waianakarua Reserve. Probably more suited to E-bikes. Trip will involve walking as well as biking.
